Teacher discussion guide
How to use the checklist before assignments are submitted.
- 1Run the check before the assignment is submitted, not after. It is a prevention tool, not a punishment tool.
- 2Project the seven questions and read them aloud once. Ninety seconds is enough.
- 3Give students two silent minutes to answer honestly on paper. No discussion yet.
- 4Ask for a show of hands on question two only: who can explain their work with everything closed? That question exposes the most.
- 5Invite one voluntary revision: 'What is one thing you now want to fix before you hand this in?' Give five minutes to fix it.
- 6Post one of the three posters permanently near the door or the submission tray so the questions stay visible all year.
- 7Repeat the check on at least three assignments. It becomes a habit only through repetition.
Keep the tone right
Three printable classroom posters
Each poster is designed for 8.5x11 Letter paper and classroom display. Print one, or print all three for different rooms.
INTEGRITY CHECK: STOP. CHECK. SUBMIT.
INTEGRITY CHECK
STOP. CHECK. SUBMIT.

- 1Did I understand what I learned?
- 2Can I explain this in my own words?
- 3Did I do my own thinking and effort?
- 4Did I use AI only for help, not to replace my work?
- 5Did I follow my teacher's rules?
Be honest. Be proud. Be you.

The 7-Question Integrity Check
Name: ______________________ Class: ____________ Date: ____________
Answer honestly before you hand this assignment in. If you check a box you are not sure about, fix it first — that is the whole point.
- Did I understand what I learned? Not 'did I finish' — did the concept actually land? If you skipped the understanding, the grade is borrowed.
- Can I explain it in my own words?Say it out loud with everything closed. If you cannot, you are not ready to submit.
- Did I do my own thinking and effort? The ideas, the choices, and the structure should trace back to you.
- Did I use AI as help, not as a replacement?Explaining, practising, feedback, planning — yes. Producing the work itself — no.
- Did I follow my teacher's rules?Every class is different. When in doubt, ask before you submit, not after.
- Are my facts and sources accurate and credited when required?AI is confident even when it is wrong. If you could not find the source yourself, do not cite it.
- Is this truly my own final work?Could you defend any sentence, any step, any line of it if asked tomorrow?
